I started my love of mid century with my grandmother's 1940's house on the south side of Chicago. She came to this country as a war bride in 1945 at 21 years old from Paris with out knowing a lick of English. Growing up with her was a mish mash of quirky humor and broken French conversation. In all my memories of her house, I remember loving it. It was old and smelled a bit musty but she had amazing mid century furniture and decor.
Now that I have my own house and family, my love of mid century anything has grown into a passion of finding unique pieces to fill my home with. A friend to resale, thrift and consignment shops all over the Chicagoland, I am building my collection slowly.
